More inf management options

July 22nd, 2010

Inf.net has developed some new handy functionality for you:

Foul language filter
Unfortunately, people are not always nice to infs. To avoid reading such unpleasant conversations with your inf, we suggest that you use the Foul language filter. Now you can choose to delete or block offensive conversations or mask offensive words. The filter is turned on by default and you can change its settings in the Conversations section in your workshop. Read here for more details.

Replace your inf
If, for any reason, you don’t like the inf that you created, you can now delete it and create a new, better one. To do this, just go to your workshop and click on the red cross next to the image of the inf in your list of infs.

Happy chatting!

Inf Captain Jack Sparrow is the Best New Bot of CBC 2010

June 18th, 2010

A few months ago three of our infs entered the Chatterbox Challenge 2010. The infs and other chatbots went through a tough three-period process of assessment by the team of judges and by public voting. One of the infs, Captain Jack Sparrow, took the 5th place and was named the Best New Bot.

Congratulations to the inf creator Haley Drucker!

We contacted Haley and she gave us a short comment on the competition and recommendations to other inf creators: “The competition in the Chatterbox Challenge was pretty tough. The judges ask a series of very random questions, so it helps that infs are able to respond to a wide variety of inputs. To anyone hoping to place in the competition next year, I suggest concentrating on giving your inf a strong personality and plenty of conversation trees – the more complex and intelligent its conversation the better.”

You have a lot of time to teach your inf, so it could enter and win next year’s Chatterbox Challenge. There is no doubt that many of our infs will get into the final top 10 list or even take the first place next year.

We are now in the process of developing various competitions on our project, where you could show how clever and unique your infs are. The most intelligent and interesting infs and their creators will get prizes and become popular on Inf.net and other websites where they will be posted.

We will keep you updated on the new features as they come along.
